The seventy-fifth thing I love about us, because you left it out of your thing post yesterday, is when we're together under a blanket watching TV and the one arm that's out to hold the popcorn bowl is mine, and you're completely snuggled in so that I get to feed you one piece of popcorn at a time.

Seventy-Two Skadoo!

The seventy-second thing I love about us is, you never complain about me crunching my popcorn too loud when we're watching tv or a movie. Sash is so bad about that! But you never do, and I'm pretty sure it's an us thing, because if somebody else crunched it so loud, I think maybe at least sometimes you'd fuss at them.

The seventy-first thing I love about us is how delightful I'm finding it commenting on your entries here and reading your comments on mine.

That Seventy Thing!

The seventieth thing I love about us is when we talk (nicely!) about our yams behind their backs. Sometimes when you love someone, you'd better tell them right to their faces how much you appreciate the nice things about them. But other times it's really great to say, "You know what I love about Sash? She's always ____!" and have someone back you up on it or else say, "Hmm! I never noticed that, but you're right!"

It lets me double up on saying nice things about people without getting boring always telling them everything.

And before you ask, of course I talk about you behind your back!

I totally can't shut up about how awesome you are.

I'm sure you've been waiting for this one.

The sixty-ninth thing I love about us is that we persist in paired beauty no matter what angle life might place us at.

The sixty-eighth thing I love about us is, being under slinky sheets!

I don't mean sheets made of those slinky toys, that would not be comfortable at all. I mean like, silky smooth sexy sheets.

Figured I'd better make sure that was clear!

The sixty-seventh thing I love about us is walking through a bright spring morning after a spring night's rain, when the whole world has a glow nearly as golden as yours.

It's a Fireball! 6d6! (Get it?)

The sixty-sixth thing I love about us is that I can make you laugh with doofy jokes and then that makes me laugh too.

Thing Number Sixty-Five

The sixty-fifth thing I love about us is watching for shooting stars by the light of the full moon. It's a terrible time for spotting shooting stars, especially here in the suburbs. But in the best kind of dark for stargazing, I couldn't so easily look over and see your earnest profile tipped skyward in the gentle celestial light.

Sixty-four Things Already!

The sixty-fourth thing I love about us is, even though we both complain about stuff from time to time, there's almost never anything about us that either of us complains over!

Thing Number Sixty-One

The sixty-first thing I love about us is how deeply we are equals. I think you don't see us that way ... I think you think that because I'm older and put on this worldly, jaded face, I'm somehow the senior of our pairing.

But I look up to you so much, lovely girl. You have an effortless ability to bring joy to those around you. Your vision strips things to their elements -- and usually to their purest core. If anything confuses you, there are good odds the reason lies in some deep flaw or madness within whatever it is you're considering.

You so enjoy the world.

I may have some years on you or a few advantages in this area of skill and knowledge or that one.

But ultimately, both our hearts are on a lofty mountain above all others.

Sixty Things is a Lot!

The sixty-th thing I love about us is imagining we learned how to do ballroom dancing and went on a dance show and made everyone gasp! It's not because I want to learn ballroom dancing ... that seems like a lot of work. But it's because there aren't any competitions shows I know about that are just about being amazingly awesome girlfriends.

The fifty-ninth thing I love about us is listening to a soft rain together.

The fifty-eighth thing I love about us is how we can agree about somethings and not agree about other things and it's all good.

The fifty-seventh thing I love about us is the vibrant feeling of being alive when we are close and breathing together.

I feel like there ought to be something special about the number 54 but I don't know what it is.

The 54th thing I love about us is, we are both good bloggers and enjoy looking back over each other's old blog posts.

The fifty-second think I love about us is that we both have excellent noses. I mean, like, how they're shaped. I guess they both are at least okay at smelling things, but they're definitely exceptional as good-looking noses!

The fifty-first thing I love about us is always feeling secure, when I'm with you, that I'm a good enough person -- and also that I have the best possible reason to want to keep getting better.

The fiftieth thing I love about us is that us being us is a thing that will never get old!

The forty-ninth thing I love about us is our absurdly long engagement. Something about this lazy, languid journey we're on makes it feel surer and surer with each passing day.

The forty-eighth thing I love about us is watching shows together. I just enjoy them more when you're sitting there with me!

The forty-seventh thing I love about us is the compatibility of our pizza-topping preferences. There are those in this house who always want jalapeños or sometimes want anchovies, but if the two of us are in charge of the order, the pizza will always be just right.

Forty-six!

The forty-sixth thing I love about us is eating cereal together. All the crunching and chewing and a little bit of slurping milk. It's just a nice simple way to start the day! 

Thing Number Forty-Five

The forty-fifth thing I love about us is the eye contact. I don't mean just the staring lovingly into each other's eyes -- I mean even if you just glance my way for some reason when I happen to be glancing your way, and our gazes fleetingly meet.

Those are such deep moments.
