Forty-Four Things!

The forty-fourth thing I love about us is, I keep getting to do the ones that have double numbers in them! This time it's because we missed a day that one time and you wrote two things in one entry, so I ended up doing even-numbered ones where I was doing odd ones before, and because you were nice and did something extra, now I get to do another eleventh thing with doubles in it!

So maybe what I mean is, the forty-fourth thing I love about us is, things just work out right for me because of you.

The forty-third thing I love about us is waking up, opening the curtains, and nestling back into bed where we can lounge together in a pool of sunlight.

I haven't ever seen the show it's from, but supposedly there's a show where forty-two is the answer to life, the universe, and everything, so ...

The forty-second thing I love about us is, everything about being alive in the universe with you!

The forty-first thing I love about us is letting the world fade into the background so that there is only the two of us.

Forty Whole Things Already!

The fortieth thing I love about us is when we are exactly on the same wavelength. Like, when you say, "Do you mean--" and I say "Uh-huh!" before you even finish!

Thing Number Thirty-Nine

The thirty-ninth thing I love about us is getting out of the bathtub together dripping wet. (Double-entedré intended.)

Thirty-eight Things Already!

The thirty-eighth thing I love about us is having bubble baths together.

The thirty-sixth thing I love about us is when we have the chance to catch up on something we haven't done enough of recently.

Like keeping up this list.

Or sharing a whole bag of cookies.

Or making love.

The thirty-seventh thing I love about us is the fact that I totally just blew two entries for this list with those last two paragraphs, but I know there are still so many things to write about that it won't matter.

I love thinking about us, I love that we both like to think, I love the things you think up ... I just love all the thinky-ness.

We're both very good with the thinking! (I think so, anyway!)

Thing Number Thirty-Two

The thirty-second thing I love about us is the shared and mutual softness with which our love cushions every jostle or blow the world might send our way.

A Whole Month of Things!

The thirty-first thing I love about us is, we are sticking to our plans!

Some of those plans (like getting married) are taking longer than other of those plans (like writing these things every day), but we're still on track! 

Thing Number Thirty

The thirtieth thing I love about us is being so close I can feel both our pulses beating in time.

Almost 30 Things!

The twenty-ninth thing I love about us is, we count.

I don't mean like, literally count one-two-three and so on, even though we're literally doing that with this series of posts ... what I mean is, the fact that we're an us is important -- even to people who aren't us!

So it's not just us who get to be happier in this world because we're us, but all the people who know us and think it's adorable and heartwarming what a great us we are. That's a wonderful thing to know!

Thing Number Twenty-Eight

The twenty-eighth thing I love about us is the way our desire to make one another happy drives us so purely, earnestly, and constantly, without ever the sense of guilt or obligation.

Dang!

The twenty-seventh thing I love about us is, even if one of us forgets something (like it's her turn to write a thing she loves about us), the other one always forgives and supports her!

The twenty-sixth thing I love about us is lying in the sunshine at your side.

Twenty-five!

The twenty-fifth thing I love about us is, we are not squares, even though twenty-five is! (I looked it up.) Not that it's a crime to be a square, and squares and nerds do have somethings in common, and both of us can do nerdy things sometimes (me more than you), but squares aren't cool, and we're cool -- both of us by ourselves and especially together!

The twenty-fourth thing I love about us is the way we make the world a brighter place together.

Twenty-three ... hey, that's this year!

The twenty-third thing I love about us is how we're going to keep this list going all year!

(Hopefully it will keep being great! I might love keeping the list going less if we run out of stuff six months from now and then it's five more months of, "The _____ thing I love about us is, I don't know, we usually don't sneeze so hard we get boogers on each other." I have faith in us, though! That's not going to happen!)

The twenty-second thing I love about us is the way I dream when I'm lying next to you. You're always there, with me no matter what the dream is about, making it wholesome and full of delight.

We are dream-bound. 

Twenty-one! Blackjack!

The twentyfirst thing I love about us is, we can totally share each others' clothes!

I mean, partly that's because a lot of our clothes fit me just as bad as they fit you, but I still like it. Also, your anniversary present top fits you great! I would ask to borrow it, but it'd be pretty hard for me to get on with my hurt back, I think.

It's so beautiful on you, though!

(Confession about this post's title ... I don't know how to play Blackjack, obviously. But when I Googled 21 to have something interesting for my title this time it said that's Blackjack, which is good if you're playing Blackjack. So I decided it must be good here too.)

The twentieth thing I love about us is those moments of idyllic calm when we're just sitting, talking, or touching, and all the world feels right.

Nineteen things already!

Hi, Elle! The nineteenth thing I love about us is, orgasms. This is maybe kinda a cheap and easy thing to love about us, but we're really good at them, and I don't think there's anything wrong about loving that!

Thing Number Eighteen

The eighteenth thing I love about us is the sharing of joy. When something delights you, it's impossible for me to feel anything but that same delight. When I feel a glow of happiness inside me, I see that same glow beaming from your eyes and smile.

It takes only one of us being happy for both of us to feel complete.

Seventeen is a Prime Number!

The seventeenth thing I love about us is, we make each other better! Like, I was trying to think of a good seventeenth thing to say, and so I thought, "Elle is smart and would probably know something about the number seventeen that I don't." So I looked it up and found out seventeen is a prime number ... which means it can only be divided by itself and by one.

Which is like how we're one together, and you can't divide us.

And you know, normally I don't like taking the time to look things up, but this time was really worth it, and I feel smarter because I did, and that means now I'm just a little smidge better than I was before.

And I know you're going to read this and say something sweet about it, which isn't the kind of thing you used to do before we were us, I think.

Which in conclusion, makes us both a lot better than we were before!
