The two hundred and eighty-first thing I love about us is watching a sappy movie with you that would normally make me roll my eyes at the heavy-handed tripe of it, and then when I see it making you smile and cry, deciding it's the most wonderful movie anyone has ever made.

The double-hundred-and-eightieth thing I love about us is that you're just so, so pretty! Which, maybe you might complain is not a thing about us because it's a thing about you ... but I think you're wrong, because even though anybody with working eyes would look at you and think you're a hundred thousand percent gorgeous, no one else could possibly think you're as pretty as I do.

Thing Number Two Hundred and Seventy-Nine

The two hundred and seventy-ninth thing I love about us is synchronicity. Walking together and realizing we're in step. Dancing in perfect time. Holding you so close that I can feel your heart beating to the same tempo as mine.

And to a lesser extent, simultaneously saying, "Jinx!" anytime the same words happen to find their way out of our mouths at once.

The bomb!

I feel like maybe I've said this one before, though, so to make sure it's not totally a repeat I'll say bubble baths with one of those super-fizzy special bubble bath bomb things that make it extra bubbly and pretty smelling.

The two hundred and seventy-seventh thing I love about us is that we are so real to each other that I can talk about things like your broken back and my bodilessness, and it doesn't undo any of the glorious dancing and holding and lovemaking we get up to together.

I thought about writing a poem in response to your entry from yesterday. But I was so happy with yours, I knew I wouldn't be happy with mine. (Even though I'm sure you'd be very happy with it. I'd still feel like I'd taken a half measure.)

So I'm going to write you a poem tomorrow, and today be content with knowing you're entirely fine about that.

The double-hundred-and-sixty-fourth thing I love about us is that any game is fun with you. Even tic-tac-toe is awesome when we play it! Sometimes I like to not pay enough attention, so I end up losing instead of it just being tie after tie after tie. (Hey! I just realized they should call it "tic-tac-tie" instead, because if you're any good and paying attention, that's what happens.)

You do this great eye-roll thing when you see that I've goofed up and it lets you win.

Self-love is a real bitch for me, you know. But when I look at you, and you're looking at me that certain way, there's a reflection in your eyes that overwhelms me.

Because it doesn't just reflect my face (which I'm pretty damn vain about as I'm sure you know) -- it mirrors back at me some part of my soul that you find deserving of your wonderful, wonderful heart.

 The double-hundred-and-sixty-second thing I love about us is making you look in a mirror (I don't mean really in a mirror literally) and see how unbelievably awesome you are. I don't know why you resist seeing that as much as you do, but there isn't much of anything more beautiful than the look on your face when I try really hard and get you to look and see it for yourself.

Thing Number Two Hundred and Sixty-One

The two hundred and sixty-first thing I love about us is that neither of us is the beer-drinking type. I suppose it might work if both of us liked beer, but that seems pretty damned unlikely, considering how awful the stuff is. The worst case would be one of us liking it and the other not. Because whoever liked it would make drinking it look so good that the other one would be forever trying it and then remembering too late that it's absolute swill.

And then the one who liked it would be torn between laughing at the spit-take and feeling guilty about drinking beer so attractively in front of a lovely person who despises the stuff.

Obviously, we would make it work one way or another.

But the current reality strikes me as ideal.

This is not a set-up for something that's going to happen later!

The double-hundred-and-sixtieth thing I love about us is that we can totally be ourselves with each other. There's never any reason for us to pretend anything, except maybe if one of us is trying to hide a super-awesome surprise to spring on the other one later.

The double-hundred-and-fifty-eighth thing I love about us is when I stub my toe and it hurts SO BAD and I'm all hopping around saying something like, "Ding dong doggone dang it!!!" and you try to get me to swear instead and I say, "But I don't really like to swear all that much," and you say, "That's because you haven't tried it enough," and then you give me some examples of things I could say that I am NOT going to type out here because I mostly try to be pretty clean here in Arielleland even though it's really just for us and if anybody came along and got offended it would kind of be just their own too-bad-so-sad problem.

And then all of a sudden after we've been arguing for a while about whether or not I should swear, I realize my toe doesn't hurt anymore and I say something like, "You sneaky bitch!"

(I know I haven't ever really said something like that but I thought you would think it was funny!)

The two hundred and fifty-seventh thing I love about us is treating you like the world-ruling empress you deserve to be.

Ring! Ring!

The double-hundred-and-fifty-sixth thing I love about us is, sometimes I feel like we are two planets orbiting each other, except since we can touch each other, they have to be planets with rings, like Saturn, and whenever we get close enough for our rings to touch, they blend together just so perfectly you can't tell which ring bits are yours and which ring bits are mine.

Probably I should have asked someone who knows more about planets for some real info about how that would work before I wrote it. But I'm sticking with it for now!
